There’s an inevitable battle that you are going to face over and over in your life. You won’t be able to escape it. You will have to embrace it. It’s a part of your journey. That battle is the showdown between you and your insecurity. In this life you find yourself facing this matchup often. It’s going to use every imperfection about you as a weapon to stop you. You may be reading this facing that battle right now. If that is true, I want you to know that you are not alone. I can relate to what you are going through. People can tell you how much they believe in you as much as possible. But those people don’t know you’re your inner stumbling blocks. Nobody knows your insecurities more than you. They will always see who you are on the outside. But they don’t feel the pain you feel on the inside. You are closer to your imperfections than anybody. So it’s perfectly normal to feel like you can’t.

This battle is nothing to feel bad about. I’m realizing more and more that this confrontation is a sign of a positive outcome. It means that the results of the confrontation can be in your favor. But that depends on how you handle the confrontation. If you run from it, you will never see the positive outcome of it. If you take on the challenge. You will see the positive outcome of it. Your insecurities often become weaponized by evil forces. They are used to define you. They’re used to telling you what you can and can’t do. You can see this in action when you read the story of Moses. During bible study this morning, I noticed he doubted himself 7 times. He questioned god each of those times and at one point he just gave up. His doubt and unbelief angered God when he told him to “Find someone else to do it”.

But God sympathized with him. He understood the depth of his doubt and did everything in his power to make him feel like he was worthy of the task. He did not settle letting him doubt himself. He made the adjustments to make him feel comfortable and confident enough to complete the task that he wanted him to complete. Let that be the blueprint to how you choose the friends in your life. Surround yourself with people that will do the same for you. Surround yourself with people that won’t let your insecurities make you give up when a tough task is in front of you. There are a lot of things in life that are not promised in this life. But one thing that is promised is the possibility of the word can’t be thrown at you. Life is sure to throw a lot of them your way. But if you have people in your life that highlight the can in them. You will be able to accomplish a lot of good. So take a step back and evaluate the people in your corner. Find out who helps give you that boost of confidence when you need it the most and hold on to them.
